RISE
Resilient Individuals through Support & Education
An alternative learning programme for children aged 4 - 12 years with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities as well as children with mental health challenges.
Welcome to RISE
A nurturing alternative learning provision helping children with SEND grow in confidence, skills, and independence.
RISE exists for children who don’t thrive in traditional education settings - and for families who know, deeply, that something different is needed. Every child deserves the chance to thrive - at their own pace, in their own way.
RISE is a supportive, child-centred, teacher led mindfulness curriculum designed to create safe, structured, and joyful spaces where children can learn, and feel truly understood.
We provide a calm, relational, evidence-informed practices that nurture emotional regulation, focus, and wellbeing in a learning environment where children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) are supported to regulate, reconnect, and rediscover their confidence in learning and in themselves.
Because progress looks different for every child - and that’s okay.
What is RISE?
RISE is more than a programme — it’s a place where children feel seen, supported, and celebrated.
We work with children who may experience challenges with learning, communication, sensory processing, social interaction, or emotional regulation. Through The Mindful Life curriculum we run tailored activities, specialist support, and nurturing relationships, we help each child:
Strengthen social and communication skills
Build emotional resilience
Develop independence and life skills
Grow in confidence and self-belief
Experience success in a way that works for them
Our approach is flexible, inclusive, and built around the individual child — not a one-size-fits-all model.
Who We Support
RISE supports children and young people who may:
Have diagnosed or undiagnosed SEND (including autism, ADHD, PDA, sensory processing differences, anxiety, trauma‑based needs)
Be struggling with school attendance or experiencing school‑based distress
Have been excluded, are at risk of exclusion, or are awaiting provision
Find mainstream education overwhelming or unsafe
We also support parents and carers with coffee mornings, workshps and safe spaces for your voice to be heard.
Whether a child has a diagnosis, is on a pathway, or simply needs extra support - they are welcome at RISE.
Our Philosophy
At RISE, we believe:
Every child is capable, even when the system cannot currently see it
Behaviour is communication
Safety, trust, and regulation come before academic progress
Families deserve support
We work from a whole‑child, whole‑family approach, recognising that meaningful change happens when emotional wellbeing, nervous system regulation, and learning are held together.
How RISE Helps Children Grow
Our sessions combine structure, specialist strategies, and play-based learning to help children develop in ways that feel safe and achievable.

We offer:
Regular feedback on your child’s progress
Practical strategies you can use at home
A listening ear and signposting to further support
A community that understands your journey
Because when families feel supported, children flourish.
Our Approach
RISE is grounded in:
Evidence‑informed practices
Neurodiversity‑affirming principles
Relational safety and trust

We don’t rush children to “catch up.”
We help them settle, feel safe, and then rise — in their own time.

Why RISE Exists
Too many children are being asked to adapt to systems that were never designed for them.
RISE was created to be a gentler, more human alternative - a place where children are met with curiosity instead of compliance, and where learning feels possible again. At RISE, we don’t ask children to change who they are.
We help them discover what they’re capable of.
